General Rules

ENTRIES:  Must be postmarked by May 18, 2009, or the entry fee is double.

 

BASE DATE FOR SHOWS: May 23rd and 24th, 2009

 

SANCTION:       Junior Does and Senior Does are separately sanctioned. 

Bucks are a single sanction.

 

The Arizona State Goat Breeders Association (ASGBA) and the Southern Arizona Dairy Goat Association (SADGA) are co-hosting this annual show.  The AMERICAN DAIRY GOAT ASSOCIATION recognizes the Memorial Day Show as an official show.  ADGA rules and regulations shall govern.  ASGBA and SADGA general rules apply.

 

ENTRY FEES:

·        $5.00 per animal per ring.  $4.00 per animal per ring if 10 or more in one breed and same family.

·        No entry fee for showmanship, however, showmanship animal must have been entered in at least one ring of the regular show.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

·        Checks should be made out to Arizona State Dairy Goat Association.

·        Entries postmarked after May 18th doubled unless per entry clerk request.

·        Check-In as follows:    Friday afternoon   4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

                       Saturday/Sunday                 7:00 am to 8:00 am

·        Due to budget restraints Pinal County Fairgrounds cannot assemble the 310 pens for us this year. The panels will be stacked up at the barn area however so we can put them together ourselves. On that basis there is NO CHARGE for pens, BUT, if you want pens you have to put them together and take them apart yourself.  First come, first serve.  Must bring wire. The panels will be available for set-up the weekend & week prior to the show.  Please mark your pen areas clearly; be respectful of others. The Show Committee will assemble holding pens by the ring area so please keep those pens/that area clear. 

·        Substitutions not allowed after Saturday or Sunday check-in closes.

·        Add-Ons and/or returned check fee(s) must be paid for at time of check-in.

                                                            General Rules

 

OVERNIGHT CAMPING:

Pinal County Fairgrounds is requiring every family group who stays overnight on the Fairgrounds to pay $15 per night even if they do not hook up to an RV spot. This includes tent and horse trailer camping.  To ensure compliance all campers must display a special permit at their camping area. Entry Clerk will distribute permits upon receipt of funds.  You can submit a check with your entries (separate check payable to Pinal County Fairgrounds) OR you can pay at the show.  Thanks for your cooperation.

 

REGISTRATION PAPERS:

If your animal is less than 6 months of age, a stamped duplicate is acceptable. Any animal over 6 months MUST have original registration papers. Animals must be entered under the “OWNED BY” name on the registration papers, not the name on a signed transfer paper.  All animals must be checked in by Entry Clerk in order to show.

 

HEALTH RULES:

No animal showing evidence of disease will be accepted and will be required to leave the grounds. Entry fees will not be refunded. THE DECISION OF THE SHOW COMMITTEE WILL BE FINAL.

 

TATTOOS:

Chairman may choose to check any breed or age group for tattoos. If tattoos are not there or if they are illegible, ADGA will not award a Championship.

 

ENTRIES OUTSIDE OF ARIZONA:

All entries from out of state must have a Permit before entering Arizona.

An official Health Certificate dated no more than 30 days prior to the show date and certifying that the animals are healthy must also accompany entries. No Brucellosis test is required if from a certified Brucellosis free herd and herd number is shown on the Health Certificate.  Animals from accredited TB free herd need not be tested if accreditation number is on the Health Certificate.

SHOW BREEDS and SHOW ORDER:  

Saturday:             Senior Does – All 4 Rings at 9 AM sharp

 

               Ring 1 : Alpine, Recorded Grade

Ring 2 : Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf

Ring 3 : Oberhasli, AOP

Ring 4 : Saanen, Toggenburg

When each breed has been judged by all four judges then the next breed will be judged in that ring.

                                             Ring 2: Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf, Saanen, Toggenburg

 

Bucks – Starting at the completion of the Junior Doe Show and Boer show

SHOWMANSHIP:  SUNDAY, MAY 24TH

·        Showmanship animal must be entered in at least one ring of the regular show.  

·        Showmanship starts at 8:00 AM sharp. 

·        Per ADGA Guidebook, clothes and person neat and clean - white costume preferred.

·        Class number and Exhibitors name must be on Entry form to insure an award.

Class S1                Pee Wee - under 9 years old (may borrow an animal)

Class S2                Juniors - 9 years to 13 years

Class S3                Seniors - 14 years to 19 years

 

 

SHOW TIME:                    Saturday:               Senior Does:         9:00 a.m.

                                             Sunday:                 Showmanship:     8:00 a.m.

                                                                           Junior Does:        9:00 a.m. or the end of                                                                     showmanship, whichever is later.
